WE MOVE CARGO WITH PASSION

International Connections – Vienna as Europe's Logistics Hub

Located in the heart of Europe, the Port of Vienna serves as a central hub for international trade. Located approximately 2,000 kilometers from the Black Sea and about 1,500 kilometers from the North Sea, the port’s location offers excellent connections to all three major modes of transport—ship, rail, and truck. This trimodality, combined with its proximity to Vienna International Airport, makes Hafen Wien a high-performance hub for global goods flows and provides the City of Vienna with economic advantages for a strong future.

Connections

Direct connection to the main European trade routes

The opening of the Rhine-Main-Danube waterway connects the Port of Vienna directly to the main artery of European inland navigation. The Danube, as a navigable route towards Southeast Europe, opens up new transport perspectives – from the ARA ports (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp) to the Black Sea (Constanta). Companies benefit from efficient, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective transport options, making the Port of Vienna an even more attractive logistics location.

A transport hub on two TEN-T corridors

As part of the European TEN-T network, the Port of Vienna is connected to two important transport corridors:

Baltic-Adriatic Corridor: Extends from the Baltic Sea to the Adriatic Sea
Rhine–Danube Corridor: This strategic location makes the Port of Vienna an indispensable hub for international goods transport – with optimal infrastructure for the future.

Hub of efficiency – Vienna's gateway to the world

Just a few minutes from the vibrant city centre, the Port of Vienna extends as the logistical heart of the metropolis – and at the same time as a gateway for international goods flows. Perfectly networked, trimodally equipped and in close proximity to crucial transport hubs such as the Vienna-Kledering central marshalling yard and Vienna-Schwechat Airport, the port is not just a location, but a strategic control centre.

Speed meets versatility

With its ideal location between the A23 Southeast Bypass and the A4 East Freeway, Hafen Wien offers businesses a logistics infrastructure designed for speed and efficiency. Here, it’s not just about storage—it’s about optimization, connectivity, and speed. A large warehouse area directly on-site ensures that the flow of goods runs smoothly and is readily available at all times.

The Logistics of the Future – Already a Reality Today

Whether it’s fast-moving consumer goods or security-sensitive cargo – Hafen Wien has the right solution for every need. Warehouses with truck ramps ensure fast handling, while the central warehouse is the ideal home for goods with special security requirements. But the real game-changer? Close collaboration with the largest freight forwarders, who have deliberately chosen the Port of Vienna as their location.

Cooperation as the Key to Success

The Port of Vienna is much more than just a storage facility – it is a dynamic platform for logistics professionals. This is where international players come together to leverage synergies and revolutionize transportation routes. Companies based here benefit not only from the practical infrastructure but also from a network that drives innovation and growth. Because one thing is clear: if you want to be a leader in logistics, this is the place to be.
